College Study Skills
Miss Shanaa Fatihah
Mentor + CSS Lecturer + My Mom in University
Salam and hello there Miss Shanaa,

It is your student, Erin Nadia from T11 here. I hope you are enjoying my website so far. I also hope that you are as fit as a fiddle. First and foremost, let me start with saying that I truly enjoy your classes during the first semester and I was always looking forward to our CSS classes.
Thank you for your guidance and tender love. Thank you for showing kindness and always boosting my spirit towards striving excellence in my studies. I love your humble personality. You know how to interact well with your students. Always remember that you are surrounded with love as well. May Allah ease every single step towards being successful. I pray for your success and happiness always.

You are precious and note that your T11 babies love you endlessly!

I still remember when I decided to introduce my plant, Butter as the ice breaking activity. Everyone was happy to see him and they also cared for Butter more than I did. Butter has been a source of positivity to me and already lived for nearly a year! Miss Shanaa said "I love your positivity" and that made me truly happy.
Butter reminds me that I am surrounded with positivity and love. There is always a bright side in life. I learn to be independent. Furthermore, it is important to keep growing despite rough times.

Maybe he just looks like a plant to anyone else but Butter is special and dear to my heart. You could have something special in your life as well, namely your pet or a teddy bear. Everyone has something special in their lives so please cherish it and keep it dearly.

My Notes for CSS

Here are my notes for this subject. I use the outline method in my note taking. I find it clear and neat when I type my notes. This method helps to keep my notes well-organised and easy to understand. Plus, I can revise on what I have learnt on.

I type my notes on my laptop before and during the lecture. I use bullets so I can understand my notes better. It is easy to identify main points. In addition, I also colour code my notes according to the subjects I have. This helps me to get easy access and enhances my organisation skills.

This subject has helped me to identify my note taking method and learning style. By understanding my learning style, I am able to search online to more study tips for visual learners. This has ultimately helped to improve my study skills and maintain my focus even more.
Assignments

I can say that every assignment that I had to accomplish was fun! I got the chance to make an infographic, study timetable and even weekly videos. I enjoyed my time expressing my creativity and putting my effort in each task given. Furthermore, each assignment had its own purpose and meaning. In my opinion, I like this subject in particular because it helps to balance my study life. As a student, it was not easy to have a balanced schedule and everything was conducted online. Nevertheless, I can say that I survived the first semester with ups and downs but I remember the topics mentioned by Miss Shanaa regarding managing time, study tips and also critical thinking.
For instance, I made this infographic within an hour. I thought it was impossible but luckily, I did manage to accomplish it.

Notes on Time Management

“Procrastination is the thief of time”
♡ Time management is the way you regulate or schedule your time.
♡ The key to successful time management is allowing enough time to complete your work while still finding time to complete all of your responsibilities.
- Balance between time and work.
- Work remains to be productive.
- Socialise with friends.
- Balance everything.
- Unwind yourself with something you like to do.
- Spend time with yourself.
- Take good care of each other.
Social Media Diary
This task was conducted from week 2 until week 8. I was free to express myself during editing and filming the entries. This assignment indeed helped me to practice good time management skills. I had to juggle between other assignments as well but I always had free time to complete my entries on time. In addition, it helped me to express my creativity and brush up my communication skills.

This was my first video for social media diary. I had fun filming and the best part was editing the video. I love expressing my creativity in editing all my entries. I also had to do written forms of entries. The entries helped me to do self-reflection. It really made me realise how important it was to have a balanced student life with achievable aims. This course indeed helped me to keep striving for what I was aiming for in life.

My friends also shared my entries on their Instagram story! It truly warmed my heart and reflected on how blessed I am to have supportive friends around me.
Meeting Miss Shanaa

I felt as if I were to meet Ariana Grande! I still remember my first time meeting Miss Shanaa. I was happy and excited to meet my lecturer.
Adelia and I made this for Miss Shanaa when she was not feeling well. We represented the whole class for this handmade reminder.

During the last class I cried when it was my turn to share my peak and pit moment throughout my first semester's experience. It was hard for me to accept that I was not on the list for top students. It took me several days to comfort myself but in the end, I accepted what happened. Miss Shanaa told me that a list does not define who we are. Being consistent is also the key to success and to achieve great marks for every assessment. She added, keep on praying, tawwakul to Allah and we all have our own strengths. Everyone still needs to learn a lot. Furthermore, Miss Shanaa reminded the whole class including myself to not be too hard on ourselves. Just be happy and say to yourself "you did well". Mistakes are normal and just be grateful. Lastly, knowledge is not just for studies but for our own good too. I appreciate the beautiful words that Miss Shanaa told my classmates and I. Her words indeed made me feel better again.
Thank You Miss Shanaa!
Plant and bloom yourself with love.
